The French-American singer Madeleine Peyroux will visit Aarhus, where she will give a concert in the Concert Hall during the Jazz Festival in July. Madeleine Peyroux is born in the USA, but moved to Paris when she was young. Here she performed with a group of street musicians in the city’s Latin Quarter. She had her breakthrough in 1996 with her debut record Dreamland that thrilled the critics and sold 200,000 copies. In 2004, she returned and took critics by surprise with her new record Careless Love, and sold more than a million copies. Several successful albums followed the release of Careless Love and in 2007 she was named Best International Jazz Artist at the BBC Jazz Awards.
