Here you'll find your overview of all the practial information you will need, when you are planning your visit to The Concert Hall of Aarhus.

Remember your ticket

You can bring your ticket in two ways:

  • As a physical ticket 
  • As a digital ticket on your phone

Arrive early

We recommend you to arrive early for every event or performance you are arriving for in The Concert Hall. This is for you to avoid queues and having enough time you find your parking space.

On evenings, where we host performances in different halls we strive to schedule them so they have a different start time to create a better flow for you in the house. Therefore, remember always to check the start time of the performance and location on your ticket.

The doors open about 20 minutes before the show and you can also buy drinks in the bar Johan R before the show.


You can park in the basement of The Concert Hall or in the basement of our neighbour and collaborator Aarhus Congress Center.


Restaurant and Café

Spoil yourself and your guests with drinks, lovely food and atmosphere in the café Johan R or in the bistro and drinksbar Maestro, both situated at The Concert Hall.


Drinks during your intermission

Pre-order your drinks during intermission and avoid queueing. You'll have the drinks waiting for you.

For performances and events in Store Sal we offer NEM PauseWe serve you all you can drink wine, cava, beer, soda, coffee, the and delicious snacks through the break. 

The price is 65 DKK pr. person for NEM Pause in the intermission.

You can order the drinks when you purchase your tickets here on our website, in the Ticket Office, trough the DRINKO app or in the bar at the day of your visit.



You can leave your belongings at one of the cloakrooms of The Concert Hall. The cloakrooms will be staffed two hours before the performances and events and the price is 20 DKK. You can pay in cash or with Mobile Pay.

You will find the main cloakroom close to Store Sal at The Concert Hall in the Foyer.

Audience attending Symfonisk Sal and Rytmisk Sal should use the cloakroom located at the hallway between the new and the old building. 

Cloakrooms without a fee: You can choose to hang coats in the basement by the toilets, but this will be on your own responsibility.


There are several toilets in The Concert Hall. It is free to use the toilets. 

From the Foyer you will have access to toilets in the basement in the northern and southern ends of The Concert Hall. You will also find toilets in the restaurant and on the 1. Balcony.

In the new building you will find the toilets in the basement under the starway located by the entrance to Rytmisk Sal.

Accessibility: You will find toilets for people with physical challenges on every floor of the Foyer and in the new building. You can read more about accessibility in The Concert Hall.

Late arrivals

For the safety and comfort of the performers and other audience members late arrivals cannot always be admitted into the venue later than the performance start.

It is the performers’ decision and rules that apply, and the rules varies from performance to performance.

We regret any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause anyone who arrives late.

Mobile phones

We request that mobile phones will be turned off prior to any performance in The Concert Hall. If you must keep your phone turned on, please place it on silent or vibrate mode.

Please also remember that light from your phone may be distracting to other audience members. It is not allowed to take photos or record sound from performances.

Kids are welcome

Kids are very welcome in The Concerthall of Aarhus. Every year we offer a range of events and shows for kids of all ages. The recommended age is often noted at the specific event. Do you have any questions or doubts you can call the box office of The Concert Hall to ask.

Are you bringing your kids to The Concerthall remember:

  • All kids must have their own ticket
  • All kids must be big enough to sit in their own seat, without disturbing other in the audience or on stage
  • It is not permitted to leave carriages or the like without supervision
